  • Governor Hobbs is the FIRST SOCIAL WORKER to be elected governor of a U.S. state.

  • Katie is a defender of democracy with a commitment to problem-solving. She gets the job done for Arizona families and delivers solutions to tackle rising costs on housing and groceries, homelessness, the state's water crisis, the border crisis, and to restore women’s reproductive freedoms.

  • Katie has been honored with DOZENS OF AWARDS for her service. Recently, she was named the League of Cities and Towns Legislative Champion for two consecutive years.

MALIA COHEN

FIRST BLACK WOMAN TO SERVE AS CALIFORNIA STATE CONTROLLER 

  • Controller Cohen led the launch of the California’s Property Tax Postponement (PTP) Program which helped seniors and Californians with disabilities keep their homes. The PTP program allows homeowners who are seniors, are blind, or have a disability, and who meet income and other requirements to postpone payment of property taxes on their primary residence. 

  • Controller Cohen has championed policies and programs that protect public health, foster economic development, promote new affordable housing, and create good jobs through protecting and expanding San Francisco’s manufacturing base.

PÉREZ

  • Senator Pérez led legislative action to rebuild fire-devastated communities and protect housing. She introduced two legislative measures, SB 782 and SB 658, aimed at protecting fire-affected communities from predatory investors and providing funding to support local rebuilding efforts.

  • Senator Pérez made history in 2020 when she was the elected as the YOUNGEST WOMAN Mayor in San Gabriel Valley history, the YOUNGEST LATINA Mayor in California history to lead a mid-sized city, and the FIRST OPENLY BISEXUAL Mayor in the country.​​

  • Mayor Karen Bass has led the nation’s SECOND LARGEST CITY with unprecedented urgency that has delivered results for all Angelenos. 

  • Karen's leadership has led to a drop in homelessness, decrease in violet crime, expansion of city services, small-business support, and climate leadership in Los Angeles.

  • Beyond her mayoral role, Karen was elected to serve as the 67th Speaker of the California State Assembly, becoming the FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN in United States history TO SERVE AS A SPEAKER of a state legislative body.
